Welcome to Modern Therapy Madison, LLC

Deciding on where you should work as a mental health provider is a personal choice. In the last year, I have been looking for ways to reach clients in new ways. I started an Instagram account to provide therapy related content and have really enjoyed this creative outlet. I have never really considered starting my own private practice and always felt "at-home" in group practice as a therapist because of all the support you receive administratively and clinically. But something has been amiss for me in the last year in my career and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I needed something challenging and creative to work on. I explored some options, but nothing seemed to be quite what I was looking for.

There are many pros and cons to starting a private practice and, for me, many of the cons kept me from exploring it before now. You're responsible for everything and take on all the risk yourself. As a less experienced therapist, this didn't seem like a good fit for me. But now, the challenges of running your own business and the creative aspect of reaching clients seem more appealing to me.

Which leads me to formally announce my practice - Modern Therapy Madison, LLC.

I am providing teletherapy services to adults and I have partnered with Alma, to help me simplify insurance credentialing and the billing process. Joining their provider directory helps me market myself to a wide variety of potential clients. I'm excited to see how their support will help me launch my practice and excited that I will be able to accept insurance rather than rely on private-pay clients. I will still be offering options for paying out-of-pocket for those choosing not to use insurance or those who do not have insurance.

So why only teletherapy? The truth is, I love teletherapy and have developed a confidence with this approach in the last few years. I wrote a blog post about teletherapy and provided tips on how to ensure a positive experience. Studies continue to show that this approach to therapy is working. According to the American Psychological Association, teletherapy is just as effective as in-person sessions for treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression and anxiety disorders. I understand teletherapy may not be for everyone and also understand it's potential limitations. This is why I'm committed to offering free consultations to prospective clients to ensure a good therapeutic match and that teletherapy is right for them.

I offer professional therapy that is relatable, modern and holistic. I want my sessions to feel like a conversation and to create a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to create meaningful change. In my role, I will listen actively and without judgement, validate, empathize and provide education and practical skills as needed. I utilize a modern, integrative approach and blends modalities to individualize treatment to each client’s unique needs. I have experience treating a wide range of mental health and substance issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, burnout and substance use issues. My areas of specialty include women-focused therapy, brain-gut health and life transitions.

If you're interested in therapy services, please contact me today to request your free consultation.

This is an exciting new chapter in my professional career. I can't wait to see what happens in the year to come and I hope to bring you all along for the ride.
